The Hoyo de Monterrey Souvenir de Luxe is the latest addition to the popular Linea Retro series that was launched in 2017 with the Partagás Capitols and Romeo y Julieta Club Kings. The H. Upmann Regalias were added in 2020.
All of the cigars in the Retro range are Marevas, 5 1/8” (124mm) x 42 ring gauge, and are presented in tins containing five cigars.
These colourful metal tins are called Retro because they draw inspiration from the pocket cigar cases that were much in vogue during the 1970s. Today the original cases are much sought after by collectors around the world and often fetch high prices when they appear at auction.
Souvenir de Luxe are all made using the Tripa Larga Totalmente a Mano (long filler totally by hand) technique and have been made using the light-flavoured blend that has made Hoyo de Monterrey one of the world’s most popular Havana cigar brands. All of the tobacco used to create these cigars has been sourced from the Vuelta Abajo, in the Pinar Del Rio region of Cuba.
