A third addition to the Vegueros brand has been launched in the UK and is now available from Havana Cigar Specialists as well as selected shops, bars, restaurants and clubs.
The Centrofinos is a unique size within the Habanos portfolio, measuring 5⅛” (130mm) x 50, and joins the Entretiempos and Mañanita in the Vegueros range.
Vegueros translates into English as ‘farmers’ and when the brand was first launched in 1996 it was a full-bodied tribute to the countless generations of men and women that have cultivated tobacco in the world-famous plantations of Pinar del Rio.
The brand was subsequently relaunched in 2013, with a lighter medium-bodied blend and completely new sizes. The new cigars are also all presented in unique tins of 16 cigars.
The names of each of the new vitolas have also taken inspiration from the Cuban farmers’ vocabulary and the ‘Centrofinos’ is no exception. ‘Centro Fino’ is a classification for the leaves of the sun-grown tobacco plant harvested from around mid-way up the plant. These generally produce Seco leaves and are used in the blend of a Havana cigar for their natural aromatic qualities.
