The Romeo y Julieta Churchill Añejados are now available in Havana Cigar Specialists and selected other venues across the UK.
These cigars are presented in their original silver aluminium tubes and the original labelled boxes of 25, but they are also housed within a new outer casing, complete with the Añejados marks of distinction.
Añejado translates as ‘aged’ and in this instance indicates that the cigars have been aged, in Cuba, for between five and eight years before being shipped to distributors around the world.
The extra age should have allowed the cigar time to mellow, rounding off much of the vigour of youth and bringing a more balanced, refined and floral smoke.
The R&J Churchill is the first vitola to be presented in tubes and is also the first release to be a ‘standard’ line. All previous releases have been global brands but in ‘new’ sizes for the brand.
As with other Habanos Specialities, supply is limited to the quantity initially laid down to age several years ago.
The Añejados concept was introduced by Habanos s.a. in 2015 and there have been five previous releases, they were:
Romeo y Julieta Piramides
Partagas Corona Gorda
Hoyo de Monterrey Hermoso No.4
H. Upmann Robusto
