  • Vitola: Montesco
  • Ring gauge: 55

  • Copied Link

  • Year: 2016
  • Flavour: Medium to Full
  • Vitola: Hermoso No.1
  • Ring gauge: 48
  • Length: 6 ⅝ Inches / 167mm
  • A marked difference in shape from recent Limited Editions from Montecristo and, although it still has a ring gauge of 48, it has a decidedly slender feel to it. Nonetheless, all of the peppery tang associated with the brand very much remain in place.
80 Aniversario

80 Aniversario

  • Copied Link

  • Year: 2015
  • Flavour: Medium to Full
  • Vitola: 80 Aniversario
  • Ring gauge: 55
  • Length: 6 ½ Inches / 165mm
  • Not strictly a Limited Edition as the tobaccos are not aged in the same way, the cigars are not dressed with maduro wrappers and they are not adorned with the second band. Nonetheless it is a fantastic cigar and a great way to mark the 80th anniversary of the world’s most popular Havana brand. This cigar is already a collector’s item and is, unusually, presented in boxes of 20.

  • Year: 2012
  • Flavour: Medium to Full
  • Vitola: Maravillas No.3
  • Ring gauge: 55
  • Length: 6 ⅛ Inches / 155mm
  • This was an entirely new size within the Habanos portfolio and was created to commemorate the 520th anniversary of the arrival of the Habano in Europe following Christopher Columbus’s discovery of Cuba in 1492. Montecristo was a fitting brand to choose given that it was and still is the best selling premium cigar brand today.

  • Vitola: Sublimes
  • Ring gauge: 54

  • A stunning cigar inspired by the legendary Cohiba Sublimes of 2004. It is often seen as the first in a triumvirate of heavy ring gauge Limited Editions to come from Montecristo over the next four years. For many connoisseurs this is the stand out cigar of the three.

  • Vitola: Robusto
  • Ring gauge: 50
  • Length: 4 ⅞ Inches / 124mm
  • This is a remaking of one of the original Limited Editions from 2000. Full of ‘tangy’ Montecristo flavour in what has become the World’s most popular Havana cigar size. In 2009 the Montecristo Robusto was revisited once again when the lighter styled Montecristo Open Master was introduced to the standard portfolio.

  • Year: 2005
  • Flavour: Medium to Full
  • Vitola: Dalia
  • Ring gauge: 43
  • Length: 6 ¾ Inches / 170mm
  • This is a classic Dalias size and so shares its dimensions with the Cohiba Siglo V and the Partagas 8-9-8. It is presented in neat 3-4-3 varnished SBN boxes of 10 cigars and has gained a reputation of being one of the best ageing Limited Editions. Hard to find now but well worth a try.

  • Ring gauge: 49
  • Length: 7 ⅝ Inches / 194mm
  • Although there are four ‘2001’ releases none of them actually made it to market until the middle of 2002. Consequently there are no Limited Edition Havanas with a 2002 dated band and these are still referred to by most people as 2001 releases.

Read About Montecristo

Montecristo is the best known and probably the most appreciated brand of Havanas throughout the world. It forms the benchmark for many Havana smokers against which other brands are judged.

The name comes from Alexandre Dumas’ famous novel ‘The Count of Montecristo’, which was a firm favourite when read to the Torcedores (cigar rollers) at the factory where it was founded in 1935.

The original Montecristo range of sizes was composed of a narrow assortment numbered from 1 to 5. Today it consists of a wide variety of vitolas to cover every level of the cigar enthusiast’s needs.

2009 saw the introduction of a new Series, Montecristo Open, consisting of four sizes blended to a lighter flavour than other sizes in Montecristo’s range and aimed at a new generation of smokers, who enjoy the pleasures of outdoor pursuits.

More recently the 2017 addition of La Linea 1935 provided a welcome full-flavoured option for the brand’s many admirers.

Whether it is within the classic medium-to-full line, the lighter Open Series or the newer, more powerful, Linea 1935, Montecristo’s perfectly balanced blends are all created exclusively with selected filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo zone, home of the finest tobaccos in the world.

All sizes are ‘tripa larga, totalmente a mano’ – long filler, totally handmade.
