What do you enjoy most about working with cigars?

For me, cigars are the great leveler. No matter who you are or where you come from, cigars bring people together through a shared passion for a product with a rich history. They foster a sense of community and conversation that’s rare, and being able to help create that atmosphere as part of my job is something I truly value.

What first interested you in cigars?

What first interested me in cigars was the commitment to time they demand, both in how they’re made and how they’re enjoyed. There’s a rich history and an incredible level of skill involved at every stage of the process. From the Vegueros who carefully cultivate and harvest the tobacco to the Torcedors whose craftsmanship brings each cigar to life. Understanding the dedication behind every cigar is what truly sparked my interest in the industry.

Do you remember your first cigar?

My first Havana was a Cohiba Siglo II.

What is the best piece of advice you have for someone just starting to smoke cigars?

I would recommend starting with a marca on the lighter end of the spectrum so you don’t overwhelm your palate on your first cigar. From there, you can gradually work your way up to fuller-bodied, more robust options as your appreciation develops. I also encourage trying as many different brands as you can — it’s the best way to build your knowledge and discover what truly suits your taste.

What are your favourite three cigars?

Ramon Allones Specially Selected, Partagas Lusitania and, as it holds a special place in my heart a Cohiba Siglo II.

Has becoming a Master in Havana Cigars helped you in your profession?

Absolutely, Having the in-depth knowledge surrounding the history and brands has given me the confidence to share that insight and to bring more people into the wonderful world of Habanos.
