Three cheers (and three new cigars)

Three cheers (and three new cigars)

News Back

Three new cigars have been launched by Habanos s.a and are now widely available across the UK. All three cigars are delayed releases from the 2014 schedule and provide some much needed cheer during the notoriously glum days that follow Christmas and New Year.

First is the Partagás Serie D No.6. Presented in a single layered SBN box containing 20 cigars the Serie D No.6 is the shortest cigar in the Partagás portfolio (shares it’s length with the H Upmann Half Corona) but, as with all of the Serie D from Partagás, it more than makes up for it with substantial 50 ring gauge. This robusto flavoured smoke is ideal for when time is short but quality will not be compromised.

Brand: Partagás

Shop name: Serie D No. 6

Factory Name: D No.6

Measurements; 3 ½“ (90mm) x 50 ring gauge

Next is the Trinidad Vigia.  This medium strength cigar seems destined to receive a particularly warm welcome for fans of the, recently discontinued, Robusto extra and Robustos T.

With a 54 ring gauge it is comfortably the widest cigar currently available from Trinindad and joins the Reyes, Coloniales and Fundadores in a modest, but well balanced and top quality portfolio of sizes.

Brand: Trinidad

Shop name: Vigia

Factory Name: Torres

Measurements: 4 3/8” (110mm) x 54 ring gauge

Flavour Classification: Medium

Last, but by no means least, is the Romeo y Julieta Pirámides Añejados. This brand new concept from Habanos offers cigars, in new sizes for the brand, that have been aged in Cuba for a minimum of five years. This offers a rare opportunity to experience how Havana cigars develop and change when stored in their natural environment.  This extra age should allow the cigars to develop a mellower, more refined taste as the blend of the leaves harmonise over time and realise their full potential.  There is also a Montecristo Churchill Añejados expected later in the year

Brand: Romeo y Julieta

Shop name: Pirámides Añejados

Factory Name: Pirámides

Measurements; 6 1/8” (156mm) x 52 Ring gauge

Presentation: Labelled box of 25 cigars (double banded)
