Rémy Martin Cigar Terrace Opens at 51 Buckingham Gate

News Back

The raised terrace overlooking the refined courtyard of 51 Buckingham Gate reopened for the summer last night. The idyllic terrace played host to a small group of journalists and private guests for the first night of the newly named Rémy Martin Cigar Terrace. As one can correctly assume from the name, the terrace serves a selection of Cuban cigars with some of the very finest Rémy Martin cognacs, including Louis XIII from the most sought after region in cognac, the grande champagne. The menu also includes a range of rare, aged Armagnac and whiskies.

The new list has been selected by Bars Manager Daniel Crebesse, who is also President of the UK Bartenders Guild and his attention to detail well rewarded.

The cigar list is exceptionally well-balanced and, although not vast, should offer something for cigar smokers of all tastes. There is also aRémy Martin and cigar pairing menu with, for example the Rémy Martin VSOP paired with the UK exclusive EL Rey del Mundo Choix de L’Epoque and the BHK 52 suggested as the best partner for the Louis XIII.

Set in plush 5-star surroundings the terrace offers discreet privacy and cover whilst providing a raised vantage point of the Courtyard garden below, not to mention a close-up view of the historic Shakespearean terracotta frieze that sweeps around the townhouses. It is an ideal location to sit and watch the world go by.

The Terrace opens from 5pm to 11pm throughout the week (excluding special event music nights) and has a capacity of 30 people. It is planned to remain open, weather permitting, until September. Tables may be reserved by emailing reservations@51-buckinghamgate.co.uk or by telephoning 020 7769 7766.

Below the veranda the already well established Courtyard at 51 remains a firm favourite for cigar smokers in the know. The a la carte menus offers Lebanese, Moroccan and Turkish fare all cooked on the garden barbecue.

The Rémy Martin Cigar terrace is sure to become one of the ‘go to’ destinations for cigar smokers looking to enjoy a cigar with a glass of something special this summer.
