Partagás Serie E No.2 Gran Reserva

News Back

The Partagás Serie E No.2 Gran Reserva has been released in the U.K and is available from La Casas del Habanos, Havana Cigar Specialists and select hospitality venues.

The Serie E No.2 was introduced to the brand’s classic portfolio in 2011 and was an instant hit with smokers who enjoy the earthy and full bodied Partagás blend with a heavy ring gauge.

Known in the factories of Cuba as a Duke the Series E No.2 measures 5 1/2″ (140mm) x 54 ring gauge. As with all Gran Reservas, the cigar is presented in numbered black lacquered boîte nature box of 15 cigars.  5,000 boxes have been produced for the world market.

The term Gran Reserva indicates that the filler, binder and wrapper leaves have all been aged for 5 years prior to rolling. In addition, only the finest leaves from Vuelta Abajo, the best tobacco growing zone in Cuba, are used.

The Cohiba Siglo VI was the first  Gran Reserva in 2009 and was rolled using tobaccos harvested in 2003. The Montecristo No.2 vitola followed in 2011 and two years later the Partagas Lusitania was added. The Romeo y Julieta Wide Churchill (2015), H. Upmann Sir Winston (2017) and Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona (2019) complete the series.

Typical descriptions of the Partagás taste include notes such as ‘peppery’, ‘earthy’ and ‘spice’ and this cigar is no exception. It has many of the full blooded characteristics that have made the Partagás brand such a well loved brand around the world.

The wide gauge of the Serie E No. 2 allows a voluminous and rich smoke that serves as the ideal foil for this Cuban powerhouse. The extra bale age that this tobacco has acquired before being rolled brings a subtlety and nuance to the blend. This can only be achieved over many years of maturation under the watchful eye of the skilled cigar makers in Cuba. A truly majestic smoke delivered by one of the aristocratic cigar houses of Havana.
