It is a Maravillas No.4 size, 5 ¾” (145mm) x 55 ring gauge and is entirely new to the Habanos portfolio. It is also the eighth Hoyo de Monterrey Edición Limitada since the project began in 2000.
As with all Edición Limitadas since 2007, the tobacco used to make this cigar has been aged for a minimum of two years. This helps to create a more rounded and approachable flavour profile. The darker wrapper also provides a hint of sweetness that works exceptionally well with Hoyo de Monterrey’s distinct light-flavoured blend.
The last Hoyo de Monterrey Edición Limitada was ten years ago, in 2013, when the Grand Epicure was released. A cigar that continues to have devotees, and one that consistently attracts noteworthy prices at auction.
These cigars are presented in a varnished Slide Lid Box of ten and have been made entirely by hand using long filler tobaccos sourced from Vuelta Abajo in the Pinar del Rio region of Cuba.
