Linley Humidors on display at Tomtom throughout September

Recently, we embarked on a project to create a series of three limited and unique humidors with long established British designers Linley. They include a one-off representation of the El Laguito factory in Havana, the home of Cohiba, a representation of the Cuban flag and the London Skyline humidor detailing a view of London’s famous landmarks.

Each humidor contains specially selected and often rare cigars from Hunters & Frankau and are available for cigar enthusiasts to purchase through selected Habanos specialists, and during September these humidors will be on display and available for sale at one of London’s premier Habanos Specialists, Tomtom in Belgravia. Tomtom is located at 63 Elizabeth Street, SW1W 9PP. For directions on how to find the specialist please use our ‘ Retailers & Where to Smoke’ link above.

The first in the collection is a detailed reproduction of the El Laguito factory in Havana, pictured above, the home of the world famous Cohiba cigars.

We believe the El Laguito factory has never been reproduced in this way before and only one of these humidors will be made by Linley.
The main compartment of the humidor houses three lift out trays with capacity for approximately 195 cigars.

There are 25 of each of the following cigars in the humidor, all Edicion Limitada, Limited Editions:

Cohiba Double Coronas (2003) (7 5/8” x 49)

Cohiba Sublimes (2004) (6 ½” x 54)

Cohiba Piramides (2006) (6 1/8” x 52)

Cohiba Esplendidos Reserva 1999/2002 (7” x 47). (The Tobacco harvest for these cigars was taken in 1999 but the cigar was not launched until 2002).

The humidor is constructed from sycamore with inlays of ripple sycamore, bird’s eye maple, burr oak, holly and Indian ebony with extremely delicate marquetry inlay work representing the detail of the factory itself.

The second humidor in the collection marks the bicentenary of the Cuban Revolution. Only fifty of the Cuban Flag humidors will be available and each one is numbered. The box features marquetry inlay depicting the Cuban national flag in ripple sycamore, satin walnut and Santos rosewood encased within walnut lippings. The box is distinguished by an undulating ‘ripple’ effect on the surface which evokes a flag fluttering in the wind.

The following cigars are contained in this humidor:
Montecristo ‘A’ 1999 Vintage ( 9 ¼” x 47)
Partagas Lusitanias 1999 Vintage (7 5/8″ X 49)
H. Upmann Coronas 1999 Vintage (5 5/8″ X 42)
Punch Double Coronas 1999 Vintage (7 5/8″ X 49)
Cohiba Robusto Reserva 1999/2002 (4 7/8″ X 50).The harvest for the tobacco for these cigars was taken in 1999 but the cigar was not launched into the market until 2002.

The final humidor in this series is the London Skyline humidor. This humidor contains 50 cigars and features the panoramic skyline of London in marquetry detailing around the box. A limited edition run of five are available and each humidor will be numbered. Veneers of cherry, Swiss pear, sycamore, walnut and wenge are used to recreate the city skyline to dramatic effect and set against a background of Macassar ebony.

Each humidor contains 50 Regional Edition cigars produced exclusively for the UK including the Ramon Allones Belicosos. This was the first Regional Edition ever produced by Habanos SA in 2004 and for this reason the cigars do not carry the second band which was only introduced the following year when the Regional Edition concept was officially launched.

For the month of September they will be on display the Tomtom in Belgravia, the shop is located at 63 Elizabeth Street, Belgravia, London, SW1W 9PP or contacted by phone on (0)20 7730 1790.
