The first ever Habanos World Days has successfully concluded after three days of activities between 4-6th May.
With global travel restrictions still in place, the event was hosted entirely online. It was seen by many as a replacement for the annual Habanos Festival which had been cancelled earlier in the year due to the pandemic.
There were a series of events, videos and activities throughout the three days, which included the much anticipated announcement of 2021 new releases.
More than 9,000 people registered for the event from over 140 countries and it received in excess of 75,000 visits during the three days it was on.
The event was primarily focused on Cohiba, celebrating its 55th anniversary and included pairings introduced by some of the most celebrated Habanos sommeliers in the world. This included Darius Namdar, the UK winner of the world title in 2018 who paired a Cohiba Esplendido with the 2021 Havana Club Tributo.
Guests were also invited to view videos on the history of Cohiba, visit a virtual trade fair, take part in a Cohiba Quiz (with a top prize of a trip to next year’s Habanos Festival) and there were 360° tours of tobacco plantations, cigar factories and La Casa del Habanos, providing an unique insight for guests.
Although the Habanos World Days has ended the platform will remain open for 30 days with all contents available 24 hours a day.
It is worth taking the time to explore the site and the new and innovative way that Habanos have found to keep everyone in the world of Havana cigars informed and entertained.
