Habanos Limited Edition launch confirmed for UK
Ramón Allones Allones No.2
Hunters & Frankau is delighted to confirm that the United Kingdom has been selected by Habanos SA to host the world launch of the Ramón Allones Allones No.2 Limited Edition 2019. The launch will take place on Wednesday 19th August at 6:30pm.
Naturally, we are unable to host a launch party in our usual style. However, we choose to see this as an opportunity to try something entirely new and so the launch will be a virtual event.
UK Casa del Habanos, Havana Cigar Specialists as well as selected hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs have been invited to host smaller, more intimate virtual tastings with their clients.
Launch packs will be provided by H&F and the evening will commence with a video of Jemma Freeman (Executive Chairman of Hunters & Frankau) and José Antonio Cejas Diaz (Hunters & Frankau Corporate Director) introducing the Ramón Allones Allones No.2.
At this point guests will be invited to light up their cigar.
Another short film will immediately follow which includes interviews with key members of the Cuban cigar industry as well as footage of the cigars being rolled in Cuba.
Everyone taking part in the evening will be encouraged to share their photos, videos and comments on online using the hashtag #RAA2LAUNCH
Subject to government guidelines at the time, and the layout of individual venues, it may even be possible for some places to host a tasting in person.
The Ramón Allones Allones No.2 is the third time the brand has been selected to make a Limited Edition for Habanos and is a classic Campana size – 5½” (140mm) x 52 ring gauge. They are housed in Special Presentation Boxes (SPB) of ten cigars.
This is the second of the 2019 Limited Editions to arrive, following the Montecristo Supremos, with the Quai d’Orsay Senadores expected to arrive later in the year.
The cigar may look somewhat familiar, if a little darker in wrapper shade, to some UK Havana smokers and that is because this is the same size and brand decided on by Hunters & Frankau in 2005 for our first ever Habanos Regional Edition, the Ramón Allones Belicoso.
Combine this with the fact that John Hunter, Morris & Elkan Ltd, an antecedent of Hunters & Frankau, owned the Ramon Allones brand for sixteen years, from 1911 to 1927, and it is understandable why H&F is so delighted to be hosting this launch in the UK.
