The Government has announced that the deadline for its Consultation on “Plain Packaging”, or “Standardised Packaging” has been extended by one month to Friday 10th August 2012 to allow more people to participate.
This means that you still have time to join the AITS (Association of Independent Tobacco Specialists) campaign saying NO to “plain” packaging for cigars and pipe tobacco.
“ACTION THIS DAY”
In Winston Churchill’s words, we urge you to respond to the Government’s Consultation on plain packaging for cigars and pipe tobaccos in the UK.
TELL THEM THAT YOU DON’T WANT “PLAIN PACKAGING” FOR YOUR CIGARS OR PIPE TOBACCO
“Plain Packaging” is misleading. The Government now calls it “Standardised Packaging” because, if it follows the regulations already set in law in Australia, all your cigars will look like the picture of Montecristo No.4s as shown on the right below.

- No familiar emblems – even the bands will be printed in the same colour
- No Cuban Government warranty seal
- No Habanos seal
None of the signs that give you confidence that the cigars you buy are genuine.
…and it’s all to stop children starting to smoke
