Cigar Dinner at the Contented Vine, August 2009
Many thanks to all those who attended the recent cigar dinner held at the Contented Vine restaurant in London.
The evening was a great success with all the guest enjoying the canapes, cigars and wines to match that were offered.
The H.Upmann Corona Junior started the evening off with John Stendall from H&F, pictured above, explaining a little about the cigar and the process used to make it, whilst James Price from Genesis Wines talked about the Côtes du Rhône Domain Alary 2007 wine picked to match the light aroma of the cigar.
Secondly the Côtes du Rhône Le Clos du Caillou 2006 was handpicked to accompany the Cohiba Siglo II, and then the 2001 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe Chateauneuf du Pape was served to finish the evening.
Thanks to the success of the evening we are beginning to plan, along with the Contented Vine, another cigar dinner before the summer is out. We will keep you posted but keep an eye on the events section in the near future for details.
The Contented Vine can be located at 17 Sussex Street, London, SW1V 4RR and can be contacted on 020 7834 0044. Due to the popularity of cigars available at the Brasserie they have created their own cigar club, more details can be found on their website –http://www.contentedvine.com/ – You can smoke your cigars on their wonderful outdoor terrace, a picture of which can be found in the COSA ( Comfortable Outdoor Smoking Area) section of our gallery.
