Bolívar New Gold Medal

The Bolívar New Gold Medal is now available in the UK, exclusively at La Casa del Habano stores.

This is a new version of a previous, much loved classic, and will be recognisable to cigar smokers of a certain vintage.  The original Bolívar Gold Medal predated the Cuban Revolution of 1959 and has been in and out of production, in the ensuing years.

The New Gold Medal has maintained the length (6 ½”) of the original but, perhaps in deference to modernity, the ring gauge has risen from 42 to 48. The striking gold foil used to dress the cigars is now embossed with the name “Bolívar”.

It is perhaps unsurprising that the cigar brand named in honour of the 19th Century Venezuelan revolutionary Simon Bolívar, liberator of no less than six South American countries from Spanish rule, is considered by many to be the fullest flavour of all Cuban brands.

It boasts an unrivalled richness of flavour in its blend of Vuelta Abajo filler and binder tobaccos that makes it one of the most sought-after marques amongst experienced smokers.
