The Cohiba Siglo de Oro has been launched in the UK and is now available from Havana Cigar Specialist and select hospitality venues.
Beginning in 2019 with the Romeo y Julieta Maravillas No.8 (year of the Rat), the Cohiba Siglo de Oro is the fourth release from Habanos to mark the Chinese lunar New Year.
Originally intended as a 2022 release, it is a celebration of the Year of the Rabbit and each cigar is dressed with a second footband bearing an image of a rabbit and the words “Year of the Rabbit”. However, this cigar is intended for a double celebration as 2022 also marked 30 years since the launch of the brand’s Línea 1492 (often known as ‘the Siglo range’).
The Cohiba Siglo de Oro measures 4 ½” (115mm) x 54 ring gauge and is an entirely new size within the Habanos portfolio. It is known as an Exitosos (Successful in English) and just 18,888 boxes of 18 cigars have been produced for the world market.
The black lacquered boxes each have an NFC chip secured to the inner lid, allowing for instant authentication.
